A side trip to Bremen, Germany

After a couple of blocks the square opened up and I saw the full magnificence of the plaza. Not only was the big church here, the Rathaus (town hall), parliament building, and several other large buildings framed the square. In Search of Wieses: Fehmarn, Germany

The first place we visited was the island of Fehmarn, the ancestral home of the Wieses (my maternal grandfather’s family).

Fehmarn is an island located just off the northeastern coast of Germany in the Baltic Sea. This island is a popular summer destination, and its claim to fame is that it was the site of Jimi Hendrix’s last concert. For the last three and a half years, my life has had one constant. Through three different jobs in three different towns in three or four different houses, one thing has always been with me: my book. Jinhua Homestay Program 2016

The Jinhua Homestay Program is a great chance to explore another culture and learn what life is like in a Chinese village.
